Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026 — named the operating entity (100 Founts Pty Ltd). Earlier in 2026: added Section 14: Hazard Reporting; Section 15: Data Sharing with Local Government (W29); updated Section 8: Community Voting (current vote types)

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using JOOVE ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. JOOVE is a trademark of and is operated by 100 Founts Pty Ltd (Australia), and is subject to Australian law.

2. Description of Service

JOOVE is a real-time community reuse platform that maps items available for reuse on Australian streets, including kerbside donations, garage sales, hazards, and community events. The Platform connects donors and collectors through an interactive map, AI-powered cataloguing, and local regulation guidance.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and current information during registration
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

4. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of the content you post (photos, descriptions, locations). By posting content on JOOVE, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and use that content within the Platform for the purpose of operating the service. You represent that your content:

  • Is accurate and not misleading
  • Does not infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights
  • Does not contain illegal, harmful, or inappropriate material
  • Depicts items that are genuinely available for reuse or sale at the stated location

5. Acceptable Use and Legal Compliance

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose, including illegal dumping or fly-tipping.
  • Place items on public or private property in violation of local council regulations or laws.
  • Post false, misleading, or spam listings.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or the Platform's systems.
  • Interfere with the Platform's operation, including overloading servers or deploying automated scripts.
  • Use the Platform to sell or give away prohibited, restricted, or hazardous items under Australian law.
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users, or trespass on private property to collect items.
  • Manipulate the community voting system (e.g., fraudulent "I Took It" or "Already Gone" votes).

Important: JOOVE does not condone or incentivise illegal dumping. Users are solely responsible for ensuring that any items placed on the kerbside comply with their respective local council's hard rubbish and illegal dumping regulations.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

JOOVE offers Free, Pro ($6.99/month or $69/year), and Max ($19.99/month) subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. By subscribing, you agree that:

  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • Prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable
  • Refunds are available within 14 days of initial purchase if you are not satisfied
  • Downgrading may result in loss of access to Pro/Max features at the end of the billing cycle

7. AI-Generated Content

Pro and Max users have access to AI-powered item detection and cataloguing. AI-generated descriptions are suggestions and should be reviewed for accuracy before publishing. JOOVE is not liable for inaccuracies in AI-generated content. Users are responsible for verifying and editing all AI suggestions before publication.

8. Community Voting & Moderation

JOOVE uses a community-driven moderation system. Users can cast one vote per listing using the following options: "I Took It", "On My Way", "Not There", or "Visual Pollution". Automated actions (such as archiving a post after sufficient "I Took It" votes, or escalating to hazard status after multiple "Visual Pollution" votes) are based on community consensus. JOOVE reserves the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Food Donations

JOOVE allows users to post listings for free food items ("Food Listings"). By creating a Food Listing, you agree that:

  • The food you post is safe for human consumption and has been stored in accordance with applicable food safety standards.
  • You have accurately disclosed all known allergens and storage requirements in the listing.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring the food complies with all applicable Australian food safety laws, including the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.
  • JOOVE does not inspect, certify, or verify any food listed on the Platform. JOOVE makes no representations about the safety, quality, or fitness for consumption of any food item.
  • Collectors accept food entirely at their own risk and should use their own judgement before consuming any item obtained through the Platform.
  • You will not post food that is expired, spoiled, contaminated, improperly stored, subject to a recall, or otherwise unfit for consumption.

Important: To the maximum extent permitted by law, JOOVE shall not be liable for any illness, injury, allergic reaction, or death arising from the consumption of food listed or obtained through the Platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

JOOVE acts solely as an informational platform connecting community members. We do not endorse, guarantee, or verify the condition, legality, or safety of any items listed on the Platform. You agree that using JOOVE, including placing or collecting items, is entirely at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JOOVE and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Platform. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Physical injury, illness, or death resulting from the collection or use of listed items.
  • Property damage or trespassing claims arising during the collection of items.
  • Fines, penalties, or legal action taken by local councils or authorities for illegal dumping, obstruction, or violation of kerbside regulations.
  • Loss of data, unauthorised access to your account, or business interruptions.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless JOOVE, its founders, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any local laws or council regulations, or your infringement of any third-party rights (including property or privacy rights).

12. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Australian courts.

14. Hazard Reporting

JOOVE allows users to report environmental hazards, illegal dumping, and community safety concerns ("Hazard Reports"). By submitting a Hazard Report, you agree to the following:

  • Not a substitute for emergency services. If you believe there is an immediate risk to life, health, or safety, call 000 immediately. JOOVE is not an emergency service and cannot dispatch assistance.
  • Accuracy. You confirm that the information in your Hazard Report is accurate and truthful to the best of your knowledge. Deliberately false or misleading reports are a breach of these Terms and may be reported to relevant authorities.
  • No guarantee of council action. JOOVE may share Hazard Reports with local councils or relevant authorities, but does not guarantee that any action will be taken. JOOVE is not responsible for any outcome — or absence of outcome — following a Hazard Report.
  • Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for the content of your Hazard Report. JOOVE disclaims all liability arising from reports submitted by users, including any claims by third parties who believe they have been adversely affected by a report.
  • Good faith protection. Nothing in these Terms limits the protections afforded to you under applicable state or territory Civil Liability legislation where you act in good faith in the public interest.
  • Removal. JOOVE reserves the right to remove any Hazard Report that is false, malicious, duplicated, or otherwise in breach of these Terms, at its sole discretion and without notice.

15. Data Sharing with Local Government

JOOVE may share anonymised, aggregated environmental impact data with Australian Local Government Areas (LGAs) and relevant government bodies (including DCCEEW) for the purpose of sustainability reporting and community waste diversion measurement.

What is shared: Only pre-aggregated, de-identified statistics — such as total items diverted, estimated CO₂ avoided, and activity counts per suburb or LGA. No personal data, names, addresses, or individual post details are shared with any government body.

Data Sharing Agreement: Any Local Government Area accessing disaggregated data through the JOOVE Council Dashboard must sign a Data Sharing Agreement (DSA) confirming that shared data will not be used to re-identify individual users and will be used solely for sustainability reporting purposes.

Opt-out: Users may opt out of inclusion in government data reports at any time via Settings → Privacy. Because all shared data is pre-aggregated and anonymous, this opt-out is a compliance mechanism consistent with Australian Privacy Principle 3 (APP 3) and does not affect your ability to use the Platform.
