When is kerbside donation legal in my suburb?
Regulations vary by council. JOOVE displays council-specific guidance automatically based on the pin location of each post, so you always know the local rules before you place or collect items.
How does the AI item detection work?
When you upload photos, our AI analyses the image and detects individual items, categorising each by name, condition, colour, and estimated weight. You can edit or add to the results before publishing. AI generation is available to Pro and Max subscribers.
Is my exact location shared publicly?
Only the location you pin on the map is shown — this is typically the street address of the items, not your home address. You can place the pin wherever the items are located.
What happens when an item is voted "I Took It"?
Community members vote "I Took It" when they collect an item. After 3 votes the post is automatically marked as "Likely Taken" so others don't travel for nothing. You can also vote "Not There" if the item has disappeared without being picked up.
How do I report something illegal or unsafe?
Use the "Visual Pollution" vote button on any listing to flag items left in inappropriate locations. For serious hazards, use the Hazard post type — add photos, a precise pin, and a category. JOOVE can route verified hazard reports to the relevant council.
